If you follow music business news then you’ve heard there’s a new bandit in town. That’s right, we’re talking about Mulve. In short, this program could very well be kryptonite to the already troubled recorded music industry, and no matter how hard the creators try to spin it like a music discovery utopia, it’s not winning any artists over. For the time being, few facts are known about the project, except that it takes around 4 seconds to download nearly any song you can think of from their servers (10 million songs at your fingertips for free), and that it’s virtually void of any malware. A few rumors have circulated concerning the location and catalog of program, most with the notion that Mulve is really Pirate Bay in disguise and is being hosted on servers in Russia. The site was down temporarily last Monday, and a status update on the group’s Facebook page was posted shortly after saying it was forced to comply with an RIAA take down request. But it’s back up now, so what happened? We’re trying to figure out all of this along with the rest of you, so be sure to leave any information in the comments if you know anything we don’t! The updated hypebot article is posted below. Enjoy?

Of course, the big question is, how long will it last?
