Anyone who’s read the story of Company of Thieves as told by lead singer Genevieve Schatz has an idea of the adversity she’s overcome throughout her lifetime. But hers is not a step and repeat tale of black and white triumph where tickets and albums sold are the only measuring sticks of success.

Think of all the ways your favorite musicians try to break down the barrier between them and you. Some emphasize their personality in Direct to Fan interaction via social media, others make sure to meet their fans at concerts, and a good amount hold contests of some sort to give select fans a really special experience. Adam Arcuragi does a commendable job of connecting with his fan base, but in ways not mentioned above.

Watch Mirror Lady play unreleased track "For Good" live on Indie Ambassador TV. Raybans and brightly colored thrift-store sweaters and miniature keyboards and a mic’d boom box. OK, the tune might not stack up to Julie Andrews’ original or Coltrane’s saxxy interpretation, but these are a few of Mirror Lady’s Favorite Things.

Musicians are insanely devoted people – there’s no other explanation for the amount of will poured into their unpromising craft and equivocal pain felt and when the vehicle for that craft crashes and burns. After the implosion of his previous outfit left Brian disoriented and disillusioned, he migrated west to sunny Los Angeles to remedy his wounds and re-discover his appreciation for music.

Serendipity is a word defined as “an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident.” It’s also the term Todd Michaelsen used to describe how he met band mate and now wife, Reena Shah. Now if Todd's desirable discovery stopped there it wouldn't be newsworthy, but Todd and Reena's happenstance was just the beginning of the serendipitous journey that would soon befall Brooklyn-bred five-piece family My Pet Dragon.
