Ben sat down with the guys in Herra Terra to discuss the process of recording their debut full length, Quiet Geist. From start to finish the record took them three years to write and record, but their perseverance paid off and they released a really solid album this past September. While Herra Terra's overall process and timeline are unique, episode 8 offers some great advice for bands looking to record an album. Enjoy!

"We're not gonna start until we're finished. We shouldn't start recording until the songs are done. Until we have a clear visual of what we want to do, what we want to say and how we want to say it." -Brad Caetano

Episode 8 Quick Tips:

• Reach out to your established network for a referral and find people to get involved on the cheap.
• Don't be afraid to pick up the phone or send an email to someone you want to work with. The majority of the time, they will get back to you.
• Don't give up, persevere and have faith in what youre doing.
• Learn to let go and say, "Ok, this is as far as we can go with this tune".
• You shouldn't go into the studio and say, "This is what it's going to be. You're making art. It's a chaotic type of thing." Naturally, keep an open mind.
• Record everything. Some musical ideas come and go and you may never think of them again. Everything is an idea, and one might work out to your advantage.
